Beat The Boss

Beat The Boss

Mike Browne is an experienced cartoonist / animator / iPhone developer living in Los Angeles, CA USA. Mike had worked with IndiaNIC previously creating TheFirstDog app, this time he wanted to take on the corporate world with a simple yet addicting game. “Beat the Boss” is specifically aimed at the angry office worker who hates his boss. Mike worked with Mahesh Vaghela, a producer for IndiaNIC creating his vision.

The Challenge

Bigredshoes.com is in the western US, IndiaNIC is in Mumbai. Virtual meetings, would be arranged. Easiest times to connect would be late evening PST. Communications and files are centralized to a specific site for each project.

Though IndiaNIC has produced 5000 apps, every title has it’s own challenges.

Mike has great ideas, fitting them all onto a small screen can create an engineering situation that requires extensive game expertise. That is why he chose IndiaNIC. What we did is find a way to create a fun, addicting game with a purpose using Mike’s excellent artwork.

Client Speak

Hello IndiaNIC,

Mike Browne here,

My latest app, “Beat the Boss”, was quite an undertaking, much planning and experimentation went into the process of creation, but you guys came up with a great final product that came out exactly how I envisioned it.

It’s really fun to play! We’ll sell a ton of them!

Thanks a lot guys, we’ll talk soon.
- Mike

The Solution

The goal of any app developer is to appear the “Top 100″ category on the App Store. Our strategy is to create a “Lite” and a “Full version”. By providing a free or lite game the user gets a chance to experience the game play before buying the full version. Mike drew a great Boss character that asks you to smack him. His look and voice really makes you want to punch him in the nose.

The artists and programmers at IndiaNIC implemented the game concept and did extensive interactive testing. We constantly showed different stages of the application during the development stage. The game is truly addicting and well thought out. I believe we have created a great application combining Mike’s fine artwork and IndiaNIC’s programming expertise.
