Project Objectives

"The StarTrader project aims to create an intuitive mobile application that enables users to seamlessly trade StarCoins, access real-time market data, manage multiple account types, and engage with dynamic research tools to enhance their trading experience. "

The core objectives of the StarTrader project were to develop a mobile application prototype that offers a visually engaging and intuitive platform for users to easily navigate and perform trading actions, such as buying, selling, and managing StarCoins. The platform aimed to provide a real-time trading experience by delivering live stock updates, news feeds, and research tools to support informed decision-making. It was designed to support multiple account types, allowing users to manage both personal and shared accounts for joint trading ventures. Additionally, user engagement was a key focus, with features like a news feed and in-depth stock research tools integrated to enhance the overall experience.

Problem Statement & Challenges

The project faces challenges in real-time data management, versatile account systems, cross-platform functionality, and balancing the innovative concept of trading athletes with user engagement and security.

Project Approach / Solution

Our project approach combines user-friendly UI/UX design, cross-platform development with React Native, secure local database integration, real-time updates, and a flexible account management system to create a seamless and engaging trading experience for users.

UI/UX Design

We began with designing wireframes and prototypes for the StarTrader application. The design process focused on simplicity and ease of use. A sports-themed aesthetic was introduced, with intuitive navigation and a dashboard for easy monitoring of trades and StarCoins.

Cross-Platform Mobile App with React Native

Leveraging React Native, we ensured a cost-effective development process while achieving cross-platform compatibility. This decision not only reduced the development timeline but also guaranteed consistent app performance across both Android and iOS.

Local Database Setup

A local database was integrated to store trading data, user profiles, and StarCoin balances. We ensured data security and privacy while maintaining the scalability of the system for future upgrades.

Real-time Updates and Stock Research

We built a stock research feature that aggregates performance data of athletes and relevant market news, providing real-time insights for users. Additionally, we implemented a live news feed and notification system to keep users informed of relevant updates.

Account Management System

We engineered a flexible account management system where users could create and manage both personal and shared accounts, enabling collaborative trading. Robust security protocols ensured that all account types were safe from unauthorized access.
